The history of the Kepler Missions is one that has spanned through the past 50 years. It is so highly classified and secretive that even those members that are lucky enough to get selected only receive information bit by bit.
The Kepler 6 crew were sent from Earth on June 8th, leaving behind all they knew with only the knowledge that they weren't expected to return to Earth until a year later. Those on board were the best and the brightest in their field and saw this as a once in a lifetime chance - this mission was a highly respected one, despite the mystery that surrounded it. It was one of the most sought out space missions one could hope to be involved in. The K6 team were sent in a small shuttle that would carry them to the Kepler base where they would board their ship to continue their journey.
There were several experiments that the crew was expected to carry out once they boarded the Kepler 6. It would take them four months to travel to the Kepler base where the Kepler 5 crew (one that had been permanently stationed there a year before to conduct experiments and help to aid the next mission) would help them to restock supplies and give them the ship that would carry them through the rest of their journey. There was a problem however when they arrived at the base; there was no sight of the K5 team, nor did it seem that they were able to connect with any of control back on Earth. Confused and frustrated, the K6 crew began to gather what little clues they could before packing up their belongs and heading to the ship as instructed by mission control, who promised they would send an investigation team and instructed the crew to continue their mission.

As suggested (despite some conflicting and worried feelings) the crew continued to venture out into the unknown, though they began to notice some odd occurrences happening around the ship. It wasn't until after another night of rest that the crew woke up to find all communication with Earth lost and that they couldn't remember their lives back home - only the skills of their respective jobs on the ship. For now the crew continues forwards, confused but willing to press on in hopes that some answers will come to the surface.
